What if I were a floating 'SOAP BUBBLE', getting carried away in a random, organic path, and finally vanishing into thin air?

With the announcement of Lockdown 3.0, people are getting a bit unnerved by the consequences. After all, this quarantine phase has restricted our socialising activities to a great extent. As a result, our brains are showing signs of fatigue. What if I told you that the same brain could provide a way out as well? How? Just close your eyes and imagine!!!
What if I were a 'FLAG', attached to a clothesline pole, fluttering in the cool evening breeze? What if I could shut down my brain for a while to prevent overthinking? What if I could let it loose, and just go with the flow! What if I could let the wind decide my fate and direction of flying, relieving me of the duty of decision-making? Sure it would be relaxing!!! Summer is here. And, trust me, occasional sips of chilled liquor are absolutely delightful! Given the current circumstances, it's unlikely that we'd be recipients of that pleasure for a while.
What if I were a 'ICE CUBE' floating in a glass of whiskey, slowly melting away to turn the content colder? In the process, I might end up having a few sips of the 'liquid sunshine' myself. Now, wouldn't that be something! In the process, even if for a while, I'd be able to not think about the unfortunate monotonousness brought into our day-to-day lives by the lockdown. A few sips while taking a dip would definitely take the edge off, and calm the senses! In these 'lockdown days', what if I were a 'HOT AIR BALLOON', from one of those incredible adventure novels by Jules Verne? I remember reading those with absolute awe and delight!!! Be it "20,000 leagues under the sea", or "The mysterious island", or "Around the world in 80 days", or "Five weeks in a Balloon". The stories had the capacity to transport you instantly to a magical world, full of adventure, thrill, and amazement! Wish I could be that amazing mode of transport for a while, floating away from all the worldly worries.
Staying locked up isn't the prettiest of options, as we have already found out. But that doesn't stop us from using the most powerful tool we have. Our minds!! Let it take you places, even if your bodies cannot.
. What if I were a 'SNAKE' from the Snakes and Ladders boardgame - with a bit of difference though. Unlike the other snakes, what if I could sneak out, breaking free from the rigid squares (our houses) and monotonous routine (work-from-home, household chores, kids, parents, etc.), and be able to enjoy things that are supposedly beyond the usual scope? What if you could go beyond the set boundaries and do things that you'd love to? Wouldn't that be liberating at this point? It's been over a month now, that most of us have been staying indoors. We all are facing our own battles, unique in their own ways. All of us must be longing for some respite. Why not use the most powerful tool we have? Our minds!! Let it take you places, even if your bodies cannot accompany.
. What if I were a 'KITE' - taking to the skies, talking to the winds, touching the clouds, and listening to the birds? What if we all could fly, if only for a while, to unclutter our minds, recharge our batteries, and return home refreshed and rejuvenated! |
ConceptStaying indoors for a prolonged duration is a huge challenge, as we all have realised by now. We all are facing our own battles, unique in their own ways. All of us must be longing for some respite. Why not use the most powerful tool we have? Our minds!! Let it take you places, even if your bodies cannot accompany. "What if" series tries to portray my mental escapades to unclutter my mind, and return rejuvenrated. ArchivesCategories |
